Ant Power

Human Rights

The Magna Carta showed us the power of a simple set of rules stating the basic freedoms that we believe in. Since then, most governments have adopted just such a set of rules. Even the United Nations has such a set, called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Not a single government currently existing on earth follows every rule on the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Soon, Ant Power will make them all follow these rules. We'll even add a few that they missed, and correct a few that they messed up.

For example, in Article 26 section 1 it says "Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit."

It starts out good, but then they add a bunch of conflicting statements. By finishing with the statement "... higher education shall be equally accessible to all ...", they nullify the rest of the crap. This therefore means that education (including higher education) shall be free.

Article 15 basically bans all immigration rules currently in place in all countries, stating "No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality." Notice that this is not a conditional statement. There can be no qualifications for this change, nor can anyone decide it for you. Not a single country in the world currently obeys this rule.

Many people believe that immigration rules are necessary. Often this is from a selfish desire to keep the local population low. There really is no need for this though, 'cause we have the technology. With our technology, higher population density means far greater luxury and comfort. People like to move to the cities, 'cause the population density is higher, meaning greater luxury, but we have technology to improve that many times.

With the growth of the Internet such that it is, and the rise of telecommuting, soon all nations will have to allow this right.

Freedom is extremely important to the well-being of any nation. Free people are happy people. Happy people are productive people. Soon, all nations will understand this.
